Look what my husband made....

3 years in the making, the chest of drawers is FINISHED!!! When we were first married, we went furniture shopping and Mike decided that my taste was too expensive. So, he decided that he would build our bedroom furniture. He made two beautiful bedside tables during the first year, then designed the chest of drawers.
So, it took a little bit to finish due to moving, remodeling our current house ourselves, going back to and finishing grad school, changing jobs, etc....you know, minor details.

Here's a close-up of the drawers: (curly maple wood)

Close up of the drawer dove-tail joints:

The chest is beautiful!!! I am so proud of Mike- he did a great job!!
Oh, this thing weighs a TON- it is solid wood through out....it was definetly a feat to move it from the garage to the house.

That is beautiful! Be sure to sign and date it somewhere, in case it shows up on Antiques Roadshow in a hundred years!

I'm definitely impressed . . . but not surprised. Great work, Mike!
