Our trip to Bath!

Mike's parents and his brother Max came to visit us for 10 days during Spring Break! We enjoyed their time with us here and were sad to see them go.
One of the advantages of having grandparents in town is that it makes for relatively easier travel, when traveling with kids (read, more hands to hold little squirmy ones, extra help up and down the tube steps, etc).
We decided to take a day trip to Bath the first weekend the Frizzells were in town.
Bath is one of my most favorite cities in England, hands-down, so I was excited to be able to go back again!

Bath Abbey is so, so beautiful!

Weekend trips and High Tea

When living in London, one should attend High Tea at least once. The work wives decided we'd go to the Sanderson Hotel's Alice in Wonderland's version of High Tea.
It was delightful and oh, so cute!

We try to get out every weekend to do some sort of sight-seeing/touristy thing with the girls. The weekend that Amy and David were in town, we went to Notting Hill and Portobello Road.
TONS of people there, but we found some really cute stuff!

Giant rack of old sewing machines- this one's for you, Mom!
Portobello Road craziness

This is the Travel Book Shop that inspired the movie, Notting Hill. It was such a cute little shop!!

This past weekend, we went to Kew Gardens, to meet up with our friends, Jeremy and Aileen.
On our way in the tube....

Our sweet friends, Jeremy and Aileen- they were so patient with our girls. It's just not the same being "tourists" with little kiddos- we now look for places that also have play areas and play grounds. :)

Sweet Annie cashed out in the stroller (or push-cart!) while at Kew....

The past month...

We've had some great date nights, thanks to several sweet ladies from Mike's office, as well as
family visiting in town!
Look at my hottie husband- he now wears a suit to work every day. BIG change, as he used to wear a polo, jeans and tennis shoes (trainers!).
Lucy helped me quite a bit in the kitchen- we made cakes, cookies, many dinners, etc... She loves to use the mixer and dump ingredients into mashed potatoes (so if the mashed potatoes are ever a little too garliky, it's because she's a little heavy-handed with the garlic salt!).
I found Lucy's tea cup and saucer in the fridge one night after she'd gone to bed. Apparently she likes chilled tea.

Lucy loves her baby. She loves to wrap her up in a blanket, spread her lovies on top of the blanket and put her down for a nap. She's a good little momma.

Annie already has the boys' attention- this was at the Science Museum- she gathered quite a crowd with her cute smiles.

Silly girl loves her quesadillas with Ranch dressing.
We got a fabulous surprise visit from our good friend, Marshall, as he had an unexpected long layover in London, on his way to Africa with the rest of the Watermark team It was SO good to see him! Made me miss home and our community group big time.
I took Lucy with me on some errands to South Kensington High Street- we stopped at Starbucks for a coffee date. Very sweet! And I'm pretty sure there were famous people there, but I'm so bad with faces/names....
We took a picnic lunch to Marble Arch one sunny (but cold!) day...

Mike and I went out one night to our local pub- it was quite picture-esque....(reminded me of Cheers)

Date night....could you tell it had been a long day? I look a little tired...

We walk right through Hyde Park on our way to the Science Museum...and here's Kensington Palace!

The girls LOVE the Science Museum and it has quite a fantastic children's area. We go there pretty often, especially when naps have been short and Mommy needs a little bit of a break! (it's about a 25 minute walk from our place).

On our walk back home from the Science Museum
Amy and David (Mike's sister and bro-in-law) came to visit us for a week! Minus Dave getting the stomach bug for the first couple of days, they had a good time and we were glad to see them! We played THE LONGEST GAME OF SETTLERS EVER one night. Mike won, of course.
